This book is unique in discussing various dimensions of rule of law in Indian context. The rule of law traditionally confined to legal discourse, did not attempt to comprehensively look into multiple dimensions. This book attempts to redefine the idea of rule of law from multiple perspectives ranging from caste, class, religion, environment, and gender. The legal system is criticised for being biased towards those in power. Economic power influences political structures, resulting in income and social inequality. The book argues that economic justice and environmental concerns are not being adequately enforced. The caste system is a pervasive and complex issue that limits upward mobility and perpetuates violence against Dalit women and minorities. The book stresses the importance of public involvement in holding the state accountable and creating a more democratic and inclusive society that promotes liberty and freedom.
