It reminds usthat the horror visited upon the Chilean people on that day and for nearly twodecades thereafter was a result of continuous U.S. involvement in that country.As the U.S., after its own September 11, has embarked on an ambitious and brutalimperial offensive, it is important to remind ourselves that the history of thisimperialism goes back a long way, as does the history of resistance to it.
